MEET ME THERE, the Interfaith Musical, is going to NYC
Since the very first notes of music and words that tumbled out during my "cosmic download" 10 years ago, I have always felt this was a project inspired in heaven.. My belief is that peaceful co-existence is indeed possible in this world, in our lifetime.
Imagine Fiddler on the Roof meets West Side Story, a musical that celebrates our diversity on one stage - reflecting Indigenous, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, New Age, Evangelical, and atheist communities. A musical like this has never been created before, but Interfaith the Musical - MEET ME THERE - is not just a musical. IT IS A MOVEMENT.
The Theater for The New City, an off-off Broadway theater in New York - with a long, distinguished history of supporting first-time playwrights with a socially relevant message - just offered me the opportunity to produce the musical on their stage in lower Manhattan. The theater will provide me with free rehearsal space and the stage venue for a three-week run. But it is now up to me to raise a minimum of $200,000 to produce the musical. This entails hiring the talent, the crew, and a team that includes the Director, Music Director, Choreographer, Set Designer, 4-5 Musicians, Orchestration, rehearsal time, and legal fees. That’s a lot of money, but not in the New York theater world.
I know I can do it with your help and the combined efforts of the interfaith community in our country and beyond. Help take MEET ME THERE to the stages of the world. " . . .the musical offers agonizing questions instead of easy answers. And then it delivers a sense of hope about choosing love over fear. It has not yet been staged, but even the story of its creation is inspirational. "
