SING-A-LONG to help raise money for INTERFAITH: The Musical
In February, Marigrace and Sam Gleason graciously opened their home in Encino to launch the first fundraiser for INTERFAITH: The Musical, hoping to speed it on its way to Broadway! Some 60 people turned up. They heard songs from the album as well as several hilarious anecdotes I shared highlights about the genesis of the project and its evolution. As a bonus, I also introduced the lyrics to a new song I had just written for the musical, “The Grand Finale.” The entire audience–their ages ranging from 12 to 102–embraced the sing-a-long enthusiastically, led by Cantor Mitzi Jacobson Schwarz. What a fun, inspiring evening. I discovered that it takes a movement to launch a grass-roots musical!
